Panasonic LCD TVs

Panasonic is much better known for its plasma HD TVs, but for consumers who are interested smaller screen sizes, it offers a small assortment of LCD- flat panel TVs. To avoid competing with the plasma TVs it offers, Panasonic LCD TVs doesn’t offer a flat panel LCD TV in sizes over 32 inches.
Compared to its competitors, Panasonic LCD TVs are typically less expensive than, for instance, Sharp or Samsung, but they also come in a much more limited range of models, features, and specifications.
Let’s take a look at a few of Panasonic’s LCD TV models.

Panasonic TC-20LA5 LCD TV: The TC-20LA5 is Panasonic's entry-level flat panel LCD. It has a 640 x 480 native resolution, which means that it can't quite display all the detail of DVDs, but at the 20-inch screen size, the lost resolution probably isn’t extremely very noticeable. Its connectivity is highlighted by a component-video input. The lack of a PC input means it can’t easily be used as a PC monitor. The Panasonic TC-20LA5 LCD TV retails for starting at around $490.

Panasonic TC-LX50 LCD TV series: The Panasonic TC-LX50 LCD TV series is a step up to its entry-level TC-20LA5. Although the product names in the LX series are similar, there are significant differences between the models. All models have a 1,366 x 768 native resolution, except for the TC-19LX50, which has a native resolution of 1,280 x 768. This means that all models should be able to display every detail of 720p input. No model in the series has a built-in HDTV tuner or a CableCard slot, so you’ll need external hardware to receive over-the-air HDTV or digital cable. The connectivity of the series varies by model. Every set has two component-video inputs, except for the Panasonic TC-19LX50 LCD TV, which has just one. The TC-26LX50 and the TC-32LX50 LCD TV also feature an HDMI input. The 19-inch Panasonic TC-19LX50 retails for starting at approximately $725; the 23-inch Panasonic TC-23LX50 retails for starting at approximately $950, the 26-inch Panasonic TC-26LX50 retails for starting at $1,400, and the 32-inch Panasonic TC-32LX50 retails for starting at approximately $1,700.

Unlike many major manufacturers, Panasonic sells its products directly to consumers through its website (don’t expect huge discounts, though.) You can visit Panasonic at www.panasonic.com. You can also find out about any rebates currently offered.
